THE inaugural Charles Sturt Adelaide International will have an international influence headed by Japanese duo Yuichi Sugita and Hiroki Moriya.
Canadian pair Peter Polansky and Erik Chvojka, Italian Alessandro Giannessi and Great Britain’s James Ward are also in the draw for the ATP Challenger tournament at West Lakes starting on Saturday.
New South Welshman James Duckworth will be aiming to build on his fighting performance at the Australian Open when he lost a gruelling second round encounter to Slovenian Blaz Kavcic, conceding the fifth set 8-10 after struggling with cramp in scorching heat.
The Australian contingent headed to Adelaide includes Queenslander John Millman, who took a set off world No. 3 Andy Murray in Brisbane.
Ben Mitchell, John-Patrick Smith, Matt Reid, Sam Groth, Brydan Klein, Greg Jones and Adam Feeney are also in the field.
Qualifying will start on Saturday with the main draw, comprising 32 players, battling for the $50,000 prizemoney from Monday.
