Release of the official Player Acceptance List

Tennis Australia has released the Official Player Acceptance List (click to view) for the Charles Sturt Adelaide International commencing this Saturday 2nd February 2013.

9 of Australia’s up and coming professional tennis players have made the first 22 with 4 wild cards , 4 Qualifiers and 2 Specials Exemptions to be added to the list.

Our club is abuzz with speculation that 70 of the world’s next generation elite professional tennis players are about to arrive in Adelaide to play in the Challenger series for ATP points.

A 250 seat grandstand has now been erected, courts had their final clean and tennis court lines will be repainted this week.

We are keen for our community to view the highest standard of tennis that is to be played in South Australia in 2013 and we will be providing free entry to the entire 74 games.

Our 60 ball kids are about to have an experience that will last them a lifetime. Our courtesy drivers will be transferring players and officials from their accommodation to the courts, our ground staff will be maintaining our courts and services to the players and our canteen volunteers will be serving nutritional food to our players, officials and the public. Our Events coordinators have planned entertainment events and we are looking to entertain our players, lines people, Umpires, Officials, the public and Tennis Australia.

Our major sponsors have been fantastic in their support to the West Lakes Tennis Club and on finals day we will be thanking and entertaining all our sponsors and Government officials.

The Charles Sturt Council, Epic Storage, Nepenthe, Bank SA, SA Events and Australian Motors are all major sponsors and have all been outstanding in their support to bring the Challenger series to Adelaide.

The day after the tournament ends is the day we commence our $200,000 surface upgrade of our tennis courts. The West Lakes Tennis Club, The Charles Sturt Council, The Department of Recreation and Sport and Tennis Australia have all invested in our club to upgrade our courts and our job is to grow our club and in doing so we will bring the best quality tennis to South Australia in 2013.

Most days play starts at 10 am with the semi-finals and finals starting around 11.30 am on the last 2 days of the Tournament. We are very much looking forward to seeing you at our courts during the tournament between 2nd and 10 February 2013.

We’re ready – let’s play.
